Ron and Jennifer Rich founded Oblation Papers & Press in 1989. Together they made handmade paper in their kitchen blender. Ron built their first Hollander beater and sundry papermaking tools. With the addition of a 100 year old letterpress machine, Jennifer began printing custom wedding invitations in their Vashon Island studio. In 1998, they opened their Pearl District retail venue. Oblation Papers & Press now includes a letterpress print shop, urban paper mill, retail store, flat printing and a wholesale product line.
